I just got a new 17'in Core2Duo MacBook Pro, and loaded XP Pro and CS:Source on it yesterday. My FPS stress test gave me a FPS rate of 124. When playing with CS' recomended video settings, I get an average of 80fps.

As addicted to CounterStrike as I thought I was, I've actually spent less time in XP than I expected - I blame the hassle of booting out of OS X, but also that the games aren't as much as draw as they used to be. However, CounterStrike:Source on the MacBook is awesome. I play with the highest native resolution and details are all maxed. The only thing I back off on is the anti-aliasing. Once I start adding that in, I have to knock down some res to keep the FPS above 30. I average about 60 FPS otherwise, which is wonderful to play in - the game is gorgeous. Of course, now I can't use the hardware as my excuse for dying so often.

Half-life 2 has a video stress test you can run from the video options. That averages 45 FPS I think.

I've only experienced one issue in XP: one time I got the the standard XP application crash dialog while playing CounterStrike. I've not been able to reproduce it, so who knows where that fault lies. I know I've had that program crash on me many times before on other machines.

I recently installed Visual Studio 2003 on the Boot Camped MacBook, so now I have a remote work development environment, and also I can revive some personal C# ASP.NET projects (so I can replace them with Ruby on Rails).
