Apple 2007 Teaser

Apple sets the bar pretty high for 2007, offering a teaser on their home page a week before the Macworld Expo and Conference.

The first 30 years were just the beginning. Welcome to 2007.

Mac Rumors offers a list of often discussed hardware and software expected this year including:

  • Apple Phone
  • New Mac Pro
  • iTV
  • Leopard
  • New Displays
  • iLife ‘07
  • New Video iPod

I fear it’s going to be an expensive year.

    I just… I feel compelled to say at this very moment, having witnessed it yet again, that iTunes has clusterf***ed my music filing beyond any hope of repair. I feel like I need to just drop some kind of gas bomb on my drives and start the hell over. Sometimes the files go on C:\iTunes; sometimes it puts ‘em in c:\My Music\iTunes; sometimes, it puts ‘em in f:\iTunes; sometimes, f:\Surprise\This is over here now. And it’s not like f: ever gets turned off or disconnected. ITunes has also decided it just can’t find literally hundreds of files that have never moved; I am not about to go in file by goddamn file and click “locate file.” Ugh, UGH I just effing hate it.

    I’m sorry to hear about the ongoing problems. I cannot defend iTunes on Windows; my library similarly deteriorated, leading to rebuilding on several time-consuming occasions. IdleTunes may assist with identifying missing files so you can separately deal with them, since sometimes iTunes didn’t seem to notice until a playlist encountered something missing; maybe you can avoid starting from scratch again.

    Also, I feel compelled to share that I’ve not had those issues on the Mac side and things have actually been pretty smooth, even keeping my music library on an external drive that is disconnected daily. Not that replacing your computer is an option, but perhaps an alternate program on Windows may better behave.
